-Yackov lay preparing for his battle with Esav. He then felt the forces of Evil gathering around his camp. He quickly transferred everyone across the river in the middle of the night. He then remembered that he had left some vessels across the river. Although the vessels were small and cheap, he knew that if the forces of evil would get their hands on them they would have an opening to steal his energy.
-Yackov then saw him, the Samach Mem himself. What started as a physical battle soon transcended to deep meditative states as the forces of good struggled against evil. The fight reached the highest worlds going all the way up to the heavenly chariot. Chazal describe them as kicking dust on the throne of glory.
