regarding obligation to learn kabbalah |

“Now,
son of man look and see that you have access to all the great rectifications
through the study of Torah and the true wisdom. But now this wisdom sits
in a corner, and there are none searching and asking for it. The verse
says “and they shall search for Y-H-V-H their G-D.” Meaning,
it should not be like a lost object that no one searches for. Rather we
have to try to rectify all the flaws, because through this will come our
Mashiach. This rectification is in our hands. What are we going to answer
in the day of judgement. - One group quotes the verse “The Honor of G-D is a hidden thing.” Saying we have no business entering the mysteries. - The second group says, I am afraid to approach the holy place, for there is a big fire. The shell that surrounds the fruit. This fire surrounds the holiness, trapping many poor souls. Just as we see that many wicked men followed Shabti Tzvi , they followed Niuf and Curse, they ended up worshiping other gods, denying the G-D of Yisroel and his Torah. Many of them were scholars wise in the Torah. Yet when thy entered the PARDES they were stricken. For the Sitra Achera fell upon them turning their heart by showing them falsehood the opposite of the words of our living G-D (Elokim Chaim). However any lie that has no truth in the beginning does not stick. They therefore hang themselves on the words of the holly Rabbi Shimon bar Yochi, blessed be his memory. They turned the bowl on its lid, they hang their empty words on the words of Rebbe Shimon. The second group then concludes, that for this reason we do not want to approach this wisdom, since it is likely to cause up spiritual and physical harm. They say their intent is for the sake of heaven. - The third group says we desire very much to study this wisdom, but it is very deep and our minds are shallow. We therefore are unable to learn Kabbalah. In Judgement however, each group will be answered that their excuse was not valid. - The first group is already disproved
at length in the book Kinat Hashem Tzvukes (Ramchal) Rabbi Moshe Chaim Latzoto - Derech Etaz
Chaim. |
