- King Shaul killed out Amalek but left
their leader Agag alive. Shmuel rebuked Shaul, telling him he had failed
at his position. He then sent for Agag so he could kill him himself.
- It then says “Shmuel sliced up Agag.” Rashi explains that
he cut him into four parts.
-There are four levels of kingship in Kedusha. Lined up against the four
levels of kingship from the Sitra Acher. An obvious manifestation of these
kingdoms are the four exiles Yisroel gets subjected to by nations.
- Agag had within him the unifying elements of all four evil kingships.
He was the leader of Ameleck and Ameleck is the head of the nations of
the Sitra Acher.
- Shmuel was trying to split up this unification of the four kingships.
By separating them into four different entities he greatly weakened them.
- As we see the four exiles we harsh enough. If Heaven forbid they were
to have happened in unison it would have been much worse.
